Project title: Gridgates

As a part of the BIOMAG project I am working on a large array of individually controllable gates which would provide a new level of control over the electrostatic environment in 2D materials and devices or allow measurements of electric fields with a high spatial resolution. Making such an array requires a different approach to traditional planar fabrication as a 3D structure is necessary to facilitate the large number of control lines. It is also necessary to implement control circuitry to allow individual control of hundreds of gates with a limited amount of transmission lines and voltage sources. The result should be a robust and reliable tool enabling new experiments for a variety of materials and systems.
